In the first decade of its existence, the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History not only self-published the Journal of Negro History, it also published monographs.  We often think that the Associated Publishers, Woodson’s firm, as the publishing house of the Association but we overlook how titles came out directly from ASNLH early on.
